Global Markets Operations is responsible for driving every part of the trade lifecycle post execution. We manage settlement activity, risk and control, while ensuring the delivery of regulatory compliance and seamless operational client service We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our Global Markets as Senior Business Risk and Control Manager , reporting to Head of GM Operations.

Principal responsibilities

• Working within the governance framework support the business line to provide clear sight of emerging risks and incident trends across their function, resulting in proactive and timely responses.

• Work closely with GMO management, COO NFR and MSS Ops NFR teams to maintain a forward looking function and will help support their business line across various risk governance forums.

• Deep connection with the teams, understanding the challenges across the Operations function and will strongly lead improvements to the global process environment in an ambitious and agile manner, ensuring progression to a more standard, sustainable and optimized way of delivering operational processes.

• Proactively engage with the 2LoD and 3LoD teams, where appropriate, acting as the key interface supporting Operations management in setting strategy and direction for remediation of high risk findings to ensure similar risk issues are proactively mitigated.

• Strengthen controls and ability to achieve cost efficiencies in line with market, client demand and service expectations. In particular, lead the controls review for key strategic change programmes within their remit, ensuring that optimum control design is achieved and transformation risk is minimised.

• Partnering closely with the business line and their peers, drive the delivery of the MSS Operations strategy for risk reduction.

• Overseeing the production of risk and control management reports and articulating the findings and recommendations to relevant senior audiences.

• Manage all business administration of GMO

• Managing Business Continuity Planning, security and fraud risk, information security, cyber risk management and vendor risk/ third party outsourcing oversight in conjunction with other business units.

Requirements

• University degree in Finance and Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; CPA or other relevant certifications preferred

• Minimum 10 years of working experience in the banking industry with focus on Global Banking and Markets, with good understanding of treasury products and relevant risk and control

• Strong understanding of the control frameworks, risk management practices and auditing standards

• Experience in risk management or audit within a global organization, working across cultures and within a complex matrix structure is an advantage.

• Detailed-orientated and the ability to manage multiple initiates and priorities

• Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes

• Skilled decision-maker, making considered and timely decisions particularly when under pressure.

• Experience in building and maintaining strong working relationships across a globally distributed matric organization

• Strong communication skills in English and Chinese

• Professional qualifications such as Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) and/or Certified Banker (CB) under Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) would be an advantage. GM
